Breech Lane Sports and Outdoor Learning

We are thrilled to be now fully 'moved in' to our new building on our Breech Lane Sports and Outdoor Learning Field. The new pavilion is the result of incredible fund raising by our Friends of Walton on the Hill Primary School and amazing hard work by members of the Walton Warriors Football Club. The pavilion has been named after Joel Beckman, a pupil at the school who loved and was very active in many sports. Joel sadly died in his final year at the school. For more information about the building of the pavilion in Joel’s name, see the link to the Newspaper Article below.

Located a few hundred metres from the main school building, having this new facility provides both a sports pavilion and classroom to allow us to take full advantage of the field. Every class at the school uses the fantastic resource and we have detailed plans and risk assessments relating to the journey to and use of the field to ensure it can be utilised safely.

Since 2014 we have further developed the facilities on offer to include:

  • An artificial cricket strip (Non-Turf Cricket Wicket) with funding from Pfizer and The Lords Taverners
  • Environmental Learning Zone to allow the development of Forest Schools and other outdoor learning initiatives
  • A long jump pit for athletics
