  3. Have an understanding of the connected nature of devices.
  4. The ability to communicate ideas well by using applications and devices throughout the curriculum.
  5. Have the ability to collect, organise and manipulate data effectively.

Walton Approach:

Our school follows Purple Mash schemes of work, which provides starting points for teachers to adapt in order to ensure we deliver a broad and balanced curriculum. It also includes many high quality resources (many of which being the 2simple software) which the children can not only access at school in their lessons, but also at home to follow up their learning. An overview can be found on the Purple Mash website.

E-safety runs throughout everything we do in Computing lessons in each class, supported by whole school assemblies where appropriate. Each year group devote a whole computing topic to the area.

We good access to computing resources at Walton, including; two laptop trollies (15 and 30), interactive white boards for every class, iPads for every class teacher and learn pads. We use a wide range of programmable toys such as BeeBots and programmable Lego.

Wireless internet access is available in all areas of the school, including the playground.
