Behaviour and Attitudes
At Walton on the Hill Primary School, we believe that every child should feel safe, valued and ready to learn — every single day. Our nurturing ethos and consistent approach to behaviour underpin our vision to make school unmissable for every child.
Our Behaviour Policy is built around three clear expectations: Be Ready, Be Respectful, Be Safe. These simple principles are understood by all and supported through consistent language, visible kindness and fair, restorative practice. We recognise that behaviour is a form of communication, and we respond with empathy, clarity and high expectations.
Through our Five Senses of Walton-ness — Belonging, Purpose, Success, Empowerment and Adventure — we promote a culture where children take pride in their actions and understand the impact of their choices. Positive behaviour is celebrated and reinforced daily through praise, recognition and reward, while clear consequences are applied calmly and consistently when expectations are not met.
Relationships sit at the heart of everything we do. By modelling respect, compassion and resilience, staff help children to learn from mistakes and develop the confidence and emotional literacy to make better choices in the future.
At Walton, behaviour isn’t simply managed — it’s taught, modelled and celebrated. Our aim is for every child to leave school not only as a successful learner, but as a kind, confident and responsible citizen who helps make our school truly unmissable!
