School Houses

In 2023/24, we renamed our school houses to celebrate four extraordinary people, chosen by staff and pupils:

Johnson House (red)

In year 5, as part of our Space topic, pupils learn about Katherine Johnson; an African American mathematician who focused on space travel and exploration. Despite experiencing racial discrimination and inequality, Johnson made a huge impact and helped send the first astronauts to the Moon.

Find out more about Katherine Johnson.

Attenborough House (yellow)

David Attenborough is a British broadcaster, biologist, natural historian and writer. He is best known for his work on educational television programmes, introducing millions of people to animals and plants from around the world, and is a passionate advocate for climate action.

Inspired by David Attenborough, our Eco Team work to improve the sustainability of our school community.

Jemison House (blue)

Mae Jemison is an American engineer, doctor and NASA astronaut. She became the first black woman to travel into space as part of the crew of the Space Shuttle Endeavour, which orbited Earth for more than a week in 1992.

Luther King House (green)

Martin Luther King Jr was one of the most famous civil rights leaders in the world and won the Nobel Peace prize in 1964. He campaigned for racial equality in America and was famous for his powerful speeches and non violent protests.
